Units Tier List

This Flowers and Deities unit tier list is a role chart with a few named faces. It is not a Pokédex. If a unit is not here, it is unranked, not secretly F.

Use How to Recruit for shop pipes and Positioning before you promote a backliner into a frontliner.

S-tier jobs (not a 125-name dump)

High-dodge melee that enrages when injured. Beast-Marked blade wielders from the Tribal Survivor roster played like this in the public run: expensive, copy-limited, and able to hold a jaguar charge if a heal landed. If 1.0 renamed them, keep the job.

Backline magic that ignores armor. Thunder priests in a June thread trivialised a last boss. That makes them S as a capture or late recruit and a balance complaint. Bring them if the preview shows a meat castle. Do not start a campaign praying the Tower sells them in column one.

A cheap Favor filler that still does a job. Servant slings and one-cost heals. They make series three possible. Elites that cost 4 in a 16-cap round cannot be your only clicks.

A-tier jobs

Stun clubs and skirmish chargers. They open shields and punish clumped fronts. Give them a lane.

Veteran poison ranged. Launch cut recruit counts and added a second to the attack interval. Veterans still look like a different unit from the commons in the recorded run.

Reach spears in rank two. The Reach rework made them a formation piece. Temple and noble spears from Next Fest notes belong here when you can afford the cost bumps.

Shieldbearers with raised ranged resist. Demo patches doubled some of that resist. They are A in front of priests and darters, B if you hide them.

Corn Spirits and other heal-adjacent spirits. Grain/Corn lines received heal ticks in spring notes. They are A on a Quetzalcoatl run, B on a shade farm.

B-tier jobs

Generic axemen and early Tower peasants. Fine as a first purchase if they fill a hole. Replace at the first promotion.

Slingers without a stun plan. Still legal. They lose to a crafted bow on a veteran.

Captured elites with no slot. A jaguar demon in reserve is a postcard. On the bar without armor it is a B that pretends to be S.

C-tier traps

Mass common archers after the launch ranged pass. Smaller packs, slower swings. A demo habit.

Summons dropped on dry center tiles. The unit might be A. The click makes it C. See the beetle thread.

A third copy of a job you already over-serve. Two blade stacks can be a plan. Four is a Favor grave.

Named faces we will mention once

Temple Greatbow, Shielded Temple Warrior, advanced Corn Spirits: unlocked in the Next Fest demo and still useful labels. Fallen / Temple / Feathered Nobles: rebalanced in that same note; treat them as limited-use elites, not as infinite walls. Underworld Rangers appeared as a summon ritual in the public run, not as a permanent squad. Read the tooltip twice.

Scorpion Lord, Impaled Demon, Bloodlettener, Chosen Sacrificer, and various undead received number passes in 0.8.1. Those names are real; their current 1.0 numbers may have moved. Unranked until we see them in the released encyclopedia.

Alien visitors and legendary beasts are store-page races. They are not a letter until they stand on your sand.

When a capture breaks this chart, keep the job and hire the name. Then go back to the starter build and ask whether the front still has a reason to live.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers drawn from the current Steam build.

Why isn’t my favorite unit on the list?

We only rank jobs and names we can source. Unlisted is unranked. Send it to a fight, then compare it to the job it claims.

Are thunder priests overpowered?

They can delete a boss if magic is unanswered. That is a specialist S, not a reason to ignore walls for three hours.

Did launch change ranged ranks?

Yes. Fewer recruits and a slower attack interval. Veterans climb; mass commons drop.

Should I always buy the S-tier job?

Buy it if you can deploy it this series. A 4-cost S-tier in a 16-cap opener can still lose to two 2-cost A-tiers.
